Transparent Toaster

The Transparent Toaster is one of those devices that’s so basic, I almost have the urge to feature it on Singletasker Saturday. As you can see, it toasts just one piece of bread at a time. However, it’s simplistic, elegant design changed my mind. If ever there was a minimalist toaster, this is it. The toasting area is completely transparent – just two pieces of glass. Brilliant.

A company by the name of Inventables is working on bringing this fantastic toaster to market. Apparently the technology is not quite fancy enough yet, but they’re working on it. If / when Inventables is successful, this transparent toaster would be a great addition to any minimalist kitchen setup.

I’m sorry to be rude, but I seriously think it’s time to redefine your needs. Life would be a lot simpler if there weren’t so many different toasters around.

Touche. Too much choice can make it difficult to keep things simple. That said, I wouldn’t buy this toaster if it were available today – my toaster works just fine. If it is available at a reasonable cost when my trusty 4 slicer gives up the ghost, I will consider buying it.

I like simplicity, and I love minimalist design. No reason you can’t combine the two, when it makes sense to do so.
