You try to cut up a box of strawberries for a Thanksgiving salad! Ours actually broke half-way through prep one Thanksgiving and doing it by hand was seriously slooooooooow. It does do other things, though. It's very useful for slicing eggs and other small soft things. But get one like the one above -- NOT the wire ones. They break too easily. I admit, if you're not slicing a bunch things like that then it's not much use. And we don't HAVE to have ours. But it's a good tool for the job if you have to do it. Hands off my strawberry slicer!
