One of the cool phrases for 2009 is “Less is more.” You hear it often – on TV, the radio, tons of websites. Heck I’m even guilty of using it, which I’m a bit ashamed of. That phrase needs to go away, and never come back. Why?
Less it not more. That’s the whole point. Less doesn’t have to be more, because it’s amazing all by itself.
Just think about it….
- Less “stuff” cluttering up your house
- Less commitments taking up your time
- Less time spent doing things you hate
- Less stress
Not a single “more” to be found. And that’s quite alright.

Well, you asked for it.
More time to do things you love
More freedom
This why less is more. Life is a zero sum game
I was just thinking of the very same thing last night. My suggestion is to replace ‘less is more’ by ‘less is better’.
@Arohan I admit it, I’m guilty of using that phrase more than my fair share over the last few months. No more! I’m banishing it from my vocabulary, because I don’t agree with it anymore. Less doesn’t have to be more – it’s better than more.
@Nienke : “Less is better” – I like it. Simple and to the point.
