5 Ways to Simplify Your Life Today

Many ideas and concepts related to simplifying your life are big projects. They can take days, weeks, months, even years to implement. It’s well worth the time to simplify, even if it takes time to bear fruit. Since we’re all human though, it’s nice to see some quick progress. So here are 5 things you can do today to simplify your life.

  1. Clean off your desk. One of the most effective things you can do right now is clear all the papers, junk, and clutter off your desk. Get your desk organized, and you’ll be amazed and how relaxed you feel.
  2. Sleep more. Not only will you be more productive, you’ll be in a better mood, and you’ll be much more relaxed. Getting enough sleep just plain makes you feel better, and what could be simpler than that?
  3. Tell someone no. The next time someone makes a demand on your time, whether it’s your boss, spouse, or a friend, say no. Be nice about it, but say no. Every single hour of your day doesn’t need to be filled.
  4. Turn off Push Email. Constant chirps from your phone alerting you of the latest email – that’s no way to live life. Turn off push, and check email on your schedule, not everyone else’s.
  5. Get rid of something. Maybe it’s that plant that you’re always forgetting to water. Maybe it’s an old computer taking up space in the corner. It doesn’t matter what you get rid of, just that you get rid of something. Less stuff = less clutter = simplicity defined.

There you go. Five easy ways to start simplifying your life today. No waiting for results, no patience, no discipline. Get started now – once you see how great it feels, you’ll be looking for more ways to simplify even further.
