Distraction can destroy productivity and send your stress levels through the rough. A lot of modern software is very full-featured, which is great if you use those features. Many of us don’t use all those features, so those extra features become distracting clutter.

Simple Software is a site with several minimalist style applications. The height of minimalism is the application called Tasks. It’s a to-do list, that only lets you focus on a single item at a time.

The only real flaw I can see with the software is that there are no Mac versions available. However, for all the Windows faithful out there, please check out the site. Single-task applications can be a breath of fresh air, and give you incredible focus and productivity.

SingleTasker Saturday is a regular feature here at The Simple Llama. Every Saturday, I feature an item that does, well, just a single task. These items go against everything I believe in, and are meant for everyone’s amusement. I don’t intend to purchase any of the SingleTaskers, and I don’t recommend that you do either.

Ok, so it doesn’t actually talk. But it does light up each and everytime your Gmail account has a new message. And you thought a chirp or Growl alert was enough. Boy have you been missing out.

If you just don’t have enough things on your desk, or enough distractions in your day, then the USB Webmail Notifier is just what you need.
